Summary
One of seven small glass ink well liners, with an outsplayed rim with a rounded edge over a slightly tapering, cylindrical body on a flat base, with a polished pontil mark. The glass is quite thick and may have been for holding a candle as it is similar in shape to a brass sconce. Free-blown. English, late18th to first half 19th Century.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The Hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1940 by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
