Summary
A black lacquer cabinet on an associated stand, The cabinet is Japanese, late 17th / early 18th Century; the stand is English, late 18th Century. The cabinet is decorated with landscape scenes, with a single door enclosing an arrangement of drawers decorated with trailing floral designs. The stand is painted black with square section chamfered legs and a cross stretcher.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1940 by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
