Summary
A joined oak backstool, English, late 17th century / early 18th century. The carved shaped top rail above a central panel held by baluster turned supports, the solid seat on baluster turned legs with a carved front stretcher and further stretchers to the sides and back.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
