Summary
A joined oak back stool, English, probably South Lancashire, late 17th century / early 18th century. The arched top rail carved with a scrolling oak leaf design above a paneled back flanked by square section supports surmounted by pointed finials. The solid seat above turned baluster supports tied by stretchers.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
