Summary
An ebony, amboyna and 'ruin marble' and ormolu mounted cabinet on an associated sycamore and amboyna stand, The cabinet Italian, circa 1680. The stand English, circa 1780.The cabinet with an arrangement of seven drawers faced with ruin marble panels around a cupboard door enclosing further small drawers with ivory handles. The stand with a slide and frieze drawer on square section legs.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
