Summary
A joined oak panel back armchair, mid 17th century, South West Yorkshire, possible Leeds. with a paneled back carved with a central diamond motif surmounted by double 'S' scroll and grape vine carved decoration. The shaped arms with baluster turned supports above a solid plank seat with scroll carved frieze on ring turned baluster legs tied by stretchers.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940)
