Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sir John Pole, 3rd Bt (1649 - 1707/8), attributed to Sir Ralph Cole (Brancepeth c.1625 – 1704), circa 1695. An oval painted portrait, wearing a lace cravat and steel breast plate. The son of Sir Courtenay Pole, 2nd B. and Ureth Shapcote, he succeeded in 1695 when he was 46. He married, in about 1666, Anne Morice, daughter of Sir William Morice Kt of Werrington.
