Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sir William Pole, 4th Bt, MP (1678-1741/42), manner of Michael Dahl (Stockholm 1656/9 – London 1743), circa 1710-20. A painted oval portrait of Sir William Pole, wearing a red coat with blue lining, flowered yellow vest. He was the eldest son of Sir John Pole, 3rd Bt. and Anne Morice. He married Elizabeth Warry, daughter of Robert Warry, on 12 April 1758. He was a Tory Member of Parliament mostly for the family seat of Honiton (1716-34) and Master of the Household to Queen Anne (1712-1714). His child was Sir John Pole, 5th Bt (d.1766) and they lived at Shute.
