Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Mary Morice, Lady Carew of Werrington (d. 1698) by John Riley (London 1646 – London 1691), circa 1682. A three-quarter-length portrait, seated of the daughter of Sir William Morice, 1st Bt and Gertrude Bamfylde. She married, as his third wife, Sir John Carew, 3rd Bt, son of Sir Alexander Carew, 2nd Bt and Jane Rolle, before 1682. She was buried on 8 June 1698 at Antony, Cornwall. Her children were: Gertrude Carew (1682-1736), Sir Richard Carew, 4th Bt (1683-1703/4) and Sir William Carew, 5th Bt (c 1689-1743/44).
