Summary
Birchbark box, embroidered with moose hair, with a brass carrying handle and lock, and a hinged lid. Made by Native American, possibly Wyandot, peoples for the tourist market, c.1800. The moose-hair embroideries depict figures of English and Native American origin, involved in traditional activities, such as drinking tea, fighting a duel (English), smoking a pipe, and hunting (Native American).
