The third edition, with large additions and improvements. v.1.ii ; 8vo. In fol. With very considerable extra-illustration. Leaves from the octavo vol. have been disbound, and tipped in or mounted with related engravings. Possible loss of some loose plates; minor damage to text. With some additional annotation in contemporary hand, identifying portraits, etc. Provenance: inscribed "Stamford, Weybridge" [i.e. William Grey, 9th Earl of Stamford (1850-1910)]. Binding: late eighteenth or early nineteenth-century diced calf; gilt tooled borders; sewn onto five raised double bands; gilt tooled spine, board edges and turn-ins. Gilt lettered spine: Granger's Hist. of England. (Boards detached.)
