2 v. ; 25 cm. (4to.) Running number: 6870. Inscription on front pastedowns: "No 3:" (vol. 1) and "No 4:" (vol. 2). Loose folded leaf of paper inserted at front of vol. 1 containing inscriptions in Greek, Latin and English, including: "This indenture made anno d[omi]ni 172[?]...[illegible]". Vol. 2 textblock bound upside-down and back-to-front. Provenance: library of Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742) of Nocton, Lincolnshire. Binding: eighteenth-century[?] full plain parchment over boards; sewn onto three parchment sewing supports; double blind fillet border with additional quarter double blind fillet parallel to spine-edge; manuscript title on front cover; very faint saltire cross in ink on vol. 1 covers; spines plain; dark red/brown sprinkled textblock edges.
