Provenance: eighteenth-century pencil ms. on first flyleaf (faint): L.P. 4.4.0 [i.e. large paper copy?]; nineteenth-century pencil note on back free endpaper verso: E Camb? 28/7/55; Black ink stamp on second flyleaf: The National Trust founded 1895. Binding: Eighteenth-century red sheep over boards on seven raised cords, gilt spine tooling with acorn and foliate central lozenge in each compartment, boards with double outer fillet and small roll, with gilt rectangular compartment and centrepiece design on covers with central foliate/crown lozenge, gilt floral rolls on board edges and inners, gilt edges, double-comb marbled endpapers, including contemporary supplied strip at foot - supports suggestion of large paper copy? Spine label missing; spine faded to brown.
