Seventeenth? century manuscript inscription "178", possibly a previous shelfmark, on verso of third free end-paper, facing title page. Binding: seventeenth century Oxford blind tooled sprinkled calf; diagonal hatching on fore-edges of boards next to spine; two leaves of printed waste, originally used as front pastedown, now detached as first and second free end-papers; text block edges sprinkled red and brown.
