Scrap of paper inserted before index in vol. 1, with manuscript note: "Index at end 1st Tom. ad Attic. should be at end of 2d Tom. & Index at the end of 2d Tom. ad Attic. should be at end of 2d Tom. ad Familares" [in the hand of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Binding: seventeenth-century plain vellum over boards; gilt title and vol. no. on brown morocco labels on spines. Blue sprinkled edges.
