Franks 3064. manuscript initial on front pastedown: "M.", and manuscript inscription on front endpaper: "Mary Booth 1720-21" [i.e. both Lady Mary Booth (1704-1772), pre-1736, prior to her marriage]. Loose slip of paper inserted at front, with faint ink negative impression of an armorial coat of arms, featuring the three boar's heads of the Booth family, boar supporters and earl's coronet, with motto 'Quod ero spero' [i.e. coat of arms of George Booth, 2nd Earl of Warrington (1675-1758)].. Binding: Early eighteenth-century sprinkled sheepskin binding; gold-tooled spine.
