Summary
A collection of, Printed and Manuscript Sources for Haydn's Two Marches for the Derbyshire Yeomanry Cavalry, (Hob. VIII, nos.1 and 2), commissioned by Sir Henry Harpur. First edition, first issue of the score. This issue is apparently unrecorded; it is not in RISM. The version with printed colophon is at RISM H 4025. The title page with manuscript colophon in contemporary hand "London. Printed for Sir Henry Harpur Bt by William Simpkins, Clement's Inn".
Provenance
Commissioned in 1795 by Sir Henry Harpur, the seventh baronet and owner of Calke Abbey. By descent to Henry Francis Harpur-Crewe and transferred via Permanent Direction to the National Trust in 1994. Currently on loan to the Derbyshire Record Office (Matlock).
