Summary
Barrel Organ, London, c.1790. Barrel organ with 2-ranks, controlled by 4 stop-knobs. Five barrels - one in position, one on top of the organ, three stored beneath. The case is of mahogany with cross-banding around panel lines in the sides and two 'panels' in the front lower part. On curved legs. The gilt pipes are arranged in three openings in the front, the widest one in the centre, all with pointed arched top profiles and curved lower profiles. Seven barrels with a number on the end of each one. a) No. 7 - in position; b) No.6, c) No.4, d) No.3 stored beneath the organ; e) No. 8 - on top of the organ; f) No.1, g) No. 2 - stored in CAL/F/? - MF22.
