Summary
Fourth memorial cross on left of aisle under blind arcade. To William Gibbs (1790-1875), owner of Tyntesfield. Arms of cross are wider at outer edge and narrower in the centre. Gold coloured metal covered with base of green enamel. Edges beaded in gold. Large circular roundel where arms meet, with four rock crystals mounted on enamelled circular base. Each arm has smaller cicrular roundel at end mounted on yellow, red, green, blue raised enamel. Small red stones set in gold coloured flower. All richly embellished with gold coloured flowers, scrolls, palm leaf sprays and clear stones, many other coloured semi precious stones. Overall effect of opulence.
