Oil painting on canvas, Called Sir Ralph Sadleir (1507-1587) of Hackney,Standon and Buntingford but really Ralph Sadlier (1585/86 - 1660) of Standen, Hertfordshire, British (English) School. A full-length portrait, standing figure of Sir Ralph Sadleir facing front in black, gold braided doublet and hose with white lace collar and cuffs, gold fringed garters and black shoes with large, gold beaded roundels on insteps. Grey falcon perched on gauntleted left hand, right hand leaning on stick. Two small shields with coats of arms in top left corner. Painted in bottom right corner is legend "Ralph Sadleir Lord of Standon". Label: Sir Ralph Sadleir MP of STANDON, HERTS.
