Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Barn Scene in Essex by William Henry Millais (Farmham 1828 - 1899), inscribed (erroneously) on canvas, on reverse: J. E. Millias R.A. for Sir John Everett Millais RA (Southampton 1829- London 1896). To right thatched barn with two boys at breaking door and to left a cart in a field under a tree which has lost its top. At centre and in front of the barn, a willow.
