Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Coastal Scene with Fisherman and Ladies and Gentlemen assembling for Lunch, by Carlo Bonavia (fl. 1755-1788), signed on stern of rowing boat 'C Bonnavia P a 1756'. On right rises a craggy cliff surmounted by ruin with trees behind and one dead one in front. On left an isthmus of rock with villa and trees on top, sandy beach below and natural archway with sea beyond. Between the sea with distant ships and arriving boats. Figures dance, sit and fish. Gilt moulded frame. Pair to NT 266902.
