This painting shows the story of Christ healing a man who had been blind from birth (John 9: 1-7). The man is seen on the ground dressed in rags and accompanied by a white dog. Christ bends over him to place an ointment mixed from dust and spittle on his eyes. One of the apostles stands to his left and two others watch in the background. The figures of Christ and the blind man are brightly lit.
