Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Henry Augustus, 13th Viscount Dillon of Costello-Gallin, MP (1777-1832) by John Hoppner (1758-1810). A half-length portrait in black, head on left hand, seated in red chair. Born in Brussels, he was the son of Charles Dillon-Lee, 12th Viscount Dillon of Costello-Gallin and Hon. Henrietta Maria Phipps. He married Henrietta Browne, daughter of Dominick Geoffrey Browne and Margaret Browne, in February 1807 at Castle McGarrett. He died on 24 July 1832 at age 54 at London, England. He was made Captain of the Oxford Militia in 1798. Was MP for Harwich in 1799; County Mayo in 1802; County Mayo between 1806 and 1807 and County Mayo in 1812. Became a Colonel in Surrey Yeomanry. He succeeded to the title of 13th Viscount Dillon of Costello-Gallin, Co. Mayo on 9 November 1813.
