Summary
Oil painting on canvas laid on plywood, George Butle Conyngham (d.1765), British (English) School, circa 1730. A half-length portrait of a mature man, against a dark background, seated, turned to the right, wearings a dral brown wig, gazing at the spectator, his left hand on his knee his right arm resting on a table on the left, his right hand laid on a book. He wears a dark green coat with large cuffs, white shirt with ruffles at the wrist, and a black waistcoat.
