Summary
Oil painting on canvas, George Lenox-Conyngham the elder (1752-1816), British (English) School, 1790s. A half-length portrait of a mature man, turned to the right, gazing at the spectator, wearing the uniform of the Springhill Volunteers or the Londonderry Militia? consisting of a dark coat with scarlet facing to collar and scarlet cuffs both with gold frogging, white reveals to his coat and a large linen bow cravat. He holds his fat in his right hand. Grey powdered hair. Stormy background, lighter to the right.
