Summary
Oil painting on canvas, George Butle Conyngham (d 1765), British (English) School, mid 18th century. A painted oval (bottom spandrels only) half-length portrait of an elderly man, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, wearing a blue coat, with gold braid, white linen stock and a grey powdered bag wig.
Provenance
Purchased by National Trust in 1957 from William Lowry Lenox-Conyngham (1903–1957), shortly before his death, along with the other contents of Springhill
