Summary
Oil painting on panel, Lady Mary Villiers, Duchess of Lennox and Richmond (1622 - 1685), after Sir Anthony van Dyck, attributed to Theodore Roussel (London 1614 - London 1689). A portrait of a lady, bust length, traditionally identified as Queen Henrietta Maria, in a white dress with a fur stole. Inscription Henrietta Maria on the reverse of the panel.

Bought by George Abraham Gibbs from Shepherd Bros., 1909 as Queen Henrietta Maria;purchased by the National Trust from the estate of the late George Richard Lawley Gibbs, 2nd Baron Wraxall (1928 – 2001) with the assistance of the NHM, Art Fund and donations from members and supporters in 2002
