Summary
A giltwood, stained bone-inlaid and walnut taquillón or vargueño stand, Spanish, probably the province of Salamanca, some elements possibly 17th century, assembled in the 19th century. The rectangular moulded top above two deep drawers and two cupboards carved with lozenge-shaped panels and rosettes painted with flowers on a blue ground, on later ebonised bun feet and brass castors. Acorn-shaped knobs and large keyholes with brass escutcheons to door and drawers.
