Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Maria Luisa of Bourbon-Parma, Grand Duchess of Tuscany, later Empress of Austria (1745-1792), possibly Venetian School, late 18th century (or the Florentine Filippo Lucci (active 1777-82)?). A portrait of Empress Maria Luisa, Grand Duchess of Tuscany and Empress of Austria (1745-1792), half length, in a richly embroidered dress, wearing the Order of the Star-Cross.

bought by Antony Gibbs from Turner & Horsley, 1897; Frost and Reed, 1952; purchased from the estate of the late Lord Wraxall with the assistance of the NHMF and donations from members and supporters.

'This is what our Librarian at Windsor says 'I believe the portrait represents Marie Louise, Infanta of Spain, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia, wife of Leopold II, Emperor of Germany. We have not got an engraving of this actual portrait but the features resemble an engraving we have of the same lady' She was the daughter-in-law of Empress Maria Teresa.'
