Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Still Life with Flowers and an Urn, in the manner of Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer (Lille 1636 – London 1699). Monnoyer was brought over to England around 1690 by Lord Montagu, and painted floral over-doors and overmantels for him and many other noblemen, acquiring the English sobriquet of 'Old Baptist'. He was much imitated. Bought by Mrs Bambridge in 1960.

Bought through Legatt Bros. for £ 950 in November 1960; bequeathed by Elsie Kipling, Mrs George Bambridge (1896 - 1976), daughter of Rudyard Kipling, to the National Trust together with Wimpole Hall, all its contents and an estate of 3,000 acres
