Caption
The sitter was the daughter and heiress of William Freman of Speden and Catherine Blount of Tittenhanger, both in Hertfordshire. She married the Hon Charles Yorke, as his first wife, in 1755, when this portrait was probably painted. Her husband’s portrait, also by Hudson, also hangs at Wimpole, as its pair, although they were not necessarily conceived as such.
