Summary
An upholstered leather cushion in a dark brown diced/boxed calf for a late 18th century/early 19th century porter's chair. It is likely that the original colour of the leather was an olive green which has faded to brown.
Provenance
Part of the Bambridge Collection accumulated by George Bambridge (1892 - 1943) and Elsie Bambridge (1896 - 1976), who purchased Wimpole in 1938. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976 by Elsie Bambridge.
