Summary
Floor tile - Design 85 - Fragment - The tile is large, triangular and plain. They were created by diagonally scoring and snapping a complete tile in half. The whole tile would be similar to those inventoried as CMS no. 1991070. This tile has a mottled green glaze but would likely have been dark green. On the reverse is evidence of a scoop. Potentially 14th to 15th century. This design is not in the Burnett-Brown Tile Collection Report. The fragment consists of two original sides, one outside and one scored and snapped. There is no corners remaining. There a good amount of slip and glaze on top but it is slightly patchy and wearing at the edges.
