Summary
Floor tile - Design 63 - Fragment - The tile is heraldic and the design is the Arms of England. The glaze is brown to light brown. Potentially mid 13th to early 14th century. (Group F – Burnett-Brown Tile Collection Report). The tile fragment has the rear of two lions and a section of the shield border. The fragment is in very good condition. Most of the slip remains, except at the edges, and is mostly glazed. The majority of the body is also glazed. On the reverse is small section of a scoop and a chunk of mortar.
