Summary
Floor tile - Design 63 - Fragment - The tile is heraldic and the design is the Arms of England. The glaze is brown to light brown. Potentially mid 13th to early 14th century. (Group F – Burnett-Brown Tile Collection Report). The tile fragment is a corner piece and is in fair condition. A good amount of slip remains, particularly the shield border. There does not appear to be any glaze remaining on the slip or the body. There are small patches of glaze on one of the edges. On the reverse is a small section of a scoop.
