Summary
Floor tile - Design 58 - Fragment - The tile is presumably a border tile as it is rectangular. It has two, eight petalled rosettes within a lozenge frame. The bevel is straight to slight and the glaze is light to dark brown. Potentially mid 13th to early 14th century. (Group F – Burnett-Brown Tile Collection Report). The tile fragment is in fair condition and has one rosette decoration. One of the outside corners is missing some tile. A small amount of slip remains across the tile and all the remaining slip is glazed. The body has a good layer of glaze across the tile. There is a patch of glaze on one edge. On the reverse is a single, conical scoop but there would be two on a full tile.
