Summary
Floor tile - Design 53 - Fragment - The tile has quarter circle arcs around corner motif of wing like trefoils which are turned to the centre. There is a central motif if a cross with fluer de lys terminals. Potentially mid 13th to early 14th century. (Group F – Burnett-Brown Tile Collection Report). This tile fragment is a centre piece and has a fleur de lys motif. The fragment is in a fair condition. The slip from the band is missing, leaving the imprint, but the slip creating the fleur de lys is intact. The majority of the remaining slip is glazed. The body around the fleur de lys has a good layer of glaze.
