Summary
Floor tile - Design 45 - Fragment - The tiles have intersecting arcs and fleurs de lys on trefoil headed bases. There are two fleurs de lys with an abacus and two with foliate arms. Potentially mid 13th to early 14th century. (Group F – Burnett-Brown Tile Collection Report). This fragment is a corner of a tile and is in good condition. The corner has the fleur de lys with foliate arms decoration on it. The most of the slip remains but only a small, dented patch is still glazed. There is very little glaze remaining on the body. The is a small chunk of mortar on one of the outside edges. On the reverse is a small concave area which could be a section of a scoop.
