Summary
Floor tile - Design 33 - Fragment - The design depicts has a band of five petalled rosettes with a large leaf facing inwards sprouting from the band. There is a smaller leaf facing the corner flanked by two more rosettes. The design is set diagonally so presumably made a four tile set with self. The remaining glaze is green on the body and yellow glaze on the slip. Potentially late 15th to early 16th century. (Group C – Burnett-Brown Tile Collection Report). One of four parts of a tile and this is the top left. The fragment is in a stable condition. There is a tiny patch of slip on the edge and no glaze remaining. There is a small circular dent in the middle of the fragment. Along the left edge is a large patch of glaze. This is one of the larger fragments and therefore, has big section of the single, central scoop on the reverse.
