Summary
Floor tile - Design 30 - Fragment - The tile has a Miserere script design. The edge of the tile is straight to slight bevel. The glaze is dark green over the body and light green-yellow over the inlay. Likely dates to the 15th century. (Group D – Burnett-Brown Tile Collection Report). Two of two parts of a tile and this is the right side. The tile part is in a stable condition as a lot of the design and imprint has worn away, particularly the middle. Slip remains along the bottom of the tile but there is no glaze covering it. The only slip remaining on the body is in a dent. There are patches of glaze along the right edge of the tile. On the reverse is a very small part of the shallow, single, central scoop.
