Summary
Floor tile - Design 14 - The design depicts stylised rosettes in circles separated with dots in two bands with sharp edged foliage pierced in places. The tile has straight to slight bevel edge, plus a dull yellow to dark olive glaze. Potentially late 15th to early 16th century. It is part of a 16 tile set with designs 15, 16 and 17. (Group C – Burnett-Brown Tile Collection Report). The tile is in fair condition. This tile is worn, particularly at the top and the edges where the red brick is visible. The slip is missing in places but there is some remaining glaze on the slip present. The body of the tile has a small amount of glaze remaining. On the reverse is a single central scoop.
