Summary
A pair of Victorian folding spectacles. The lenses, framed in metal, fold into an intricately carved, metal case. There is a little metal lever which, once pulled down, releases the lenses from the case and they pop out the side. At one end of the case is a small metal ring which is threaded on to a long piece of black velvet material which creates a chain to hang the spectacles from. The velvet is fraying in places. This object was found in a mahogany table (CMS no. 997561.1).
