Summary
Civil uniform sword with an etched inscription near the hilt reading: H. HUNTSMAN & SON / 11, SAVILLE ROW. W.1. The length of the blade is unsharpened and decorated halfway down with etched markings. Has a golden hilt with cast gilt-brass mounts (gilt rubbed), an oval shaped guard, scrolled cross-guards and a gold wire bullion sword knot wrapped around the knuckle-bow. Blade is unsharpened. Part of a Royal Household uniform worn by George Abraham Gibbs as King George V's Treasurer of the Household 1921–1928. From wardrobe in Lord Wraxall's Bedroom. Found stored in large, flat tin trunk NT17229.
