Summary
Fine blue double-breasted greatcoat, with black velvet collar and scarlet lining. Brass buttons with garter motto and crown. Lining moth damaged. Label inside left breast pockets reads: H. HUNTSMAN & SONS / 11 SAVILE ROW / LONDON W1. Handwritten: Col GA Gibbs / MP / 25/1/22. Part of a Royal Household uniform worn by George Abraham Gibbs as King George V's Treasurer of the Household 1921–1928. From wardrobe in Lord Wraxall's Bedroom. Found stored in large, flat tin trunk NT17229.
