Summary
Pith hat inside tin box (NT17217.1). Cream coloured outer with tan coloured leather strap and metal buckle across front peak of hat. Inside the rim is covered in green fabric with a leather and fabric mesh band around to fit head. Silver coloured meterial lining main part of hat. On the band is stamped in gold lettering; COMFORTEASE / ROYAL LETTERS PATENT / NO. 228467 / ADOPTED BY H.M. GOVT. There is also a white round hat size sticker printed in blue which reads; 7 1/8. On the band is a circular maker's mark stamped in blue which reads; ROYAL LETTERS PATENT / NO. 397885 7 / 8133 / 10-15 COOLER / MADE IN / Coolair - / Aluminex / ENGLAND / RECOMMENDED BY / THE TROPICAL RESEARCH / DEPARTMENT.
