Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Samuel Rock, British (English) School, early 18th century. A three-quarter-length portrait of the solicitor, law agent and steward to Simon, 1st Earl of Harcourt of Nuneham Courtenay, Oxfordshire, Samuel Rock, in grey coat with sword. He married Zenobia Newton in 1725, daughter of James Newton MP,of the Manor House, Clerkenwell and a descendant of Sir Isaac Newton.
