Summary
Locomotive plate. An oval, brass maker's plate from a railway locomotive, no.5229, built by Neilson & Co. in 1897. The plate has a polished brass surface with inscribed lettering and border painted red. The locomotive was a 0-4-0T No.27 at Beckton Gas Works, Essex, and was scrapped in 1962.
