Summary
Locomotive plate. An oval, brass maker's plate from a railway locomotive, no.2597, built by Neilson & Co. in 1880. The plate has a polished brass surface with inscribed lettering, and there are two fixing holes. The locomotive was a 0-4-0T No.12 at Beckton Gas Works, Essex, and was scrapped in 1960.
