Caption
A double three-quarter-length portrait of the children of Francis, 2nd Earl of Godolphin and 1st Baron of Godolphin of Helston (1678 - 1766), 'Willigo' and ‘Harriot’ in a landscape. He stands with his hand resting on a globe pointing at England, and his sister is seated, holding a garland of flowers. He was the last heir and would have inherited the fortunes of Godolphin and Marlborough but allegedly lived a dissipated life and married Maria Catherine de Jong, daughter of the Burgomaster of Utrecht without his parent's consent. She married Thomas Pelham Holles, 1st Duke of Newcastle in 1717.
